Etnies Footwear was created in 1986 in Lake Forest, California, and is another one of Sole Technology's prized companies. The company was co-founded by ex-professional skateboarder Pierre André Sénizergues. At the time of birth of the company, Etnies was solely a European company, but would in time relocate to the US.
